A Florida man won $1 million while playing a scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery recently announced that James Bostick of Lady Lake won a $1 million prize in the Giant Bucks scratch-off game.

According to the Florida Lottery, the Sumter County winner purchased his winning ticket at BJ’s Wholesale Club, which is located at 13585 N.E. 86th Path in Lady Lake.

He claimed his winnings at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

The $5 Giant Bucks game has top jackpots of up to $1,000,000 and various bonus spots for dynamic gameplay, including a massive $250 bonus slot. The Florida Lottery reports that three top prizes remain.

The overall odds for this scratch off game are 1:3.75.

Scratch-off games are a key part of the Lottery’s range of games, accounting for over 74% of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Furthermore, since their establishment, scratch-off games have paid out more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires, and raised more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

The Florida Lottery is responsible for more than $49 billion in education funding and sending over 983,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
