A 27-year-old Brooksville woman sentenced to 25 years in prison this week and will be required to register as a lifetime sexual predator following a plea deal in a child sexual abuse case.
Jenna Ann Hoffman pled guilty earlier this year to encouraging a sexual performance by a child, possessing a sex performance by a kid, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12, and illegal use of a two-way communication device.
The investigation began on September 23, 2024, when Detective Kevin Keiper of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Section received a cyber tip concerning an online account that shared child sexual abuse material. Investigators discovered six files, including photographs and videos of Hoffman engaging in sexual acts with a young victim.
Detective Keiper acquired evidence linking the online account to Hoffman and traced her to a home off Snow Memorial Highway in Brooksville. Authorities confirmed that her home address corresponded to the IP address used to upload the content.
Investigators interrogated Hoffman while serving a search warrant at his residence. After being read her Miranda rights, Hoffman admitted to running the account. She told officers she took the images and videos to transmit to an online acquaintance in exchange for money, but she never got paid. Deputies apprehended Hoffman immediately after the interview.
“The mere thought that someone would choose to purposefully exploit such a young child for monetary gain is inexcusable,” stated Walter Forgie, Chief Assistant State Attorney of the Fifth Judicial Circuit. “There should be no amount of money that someone would take to engage in such horrendous crimes with a child.”
Assistant State Attorney Angelina Rodeo prosecuted the case, assisted by Detective Keiper and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Hoffman’s sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections will keep her on the state’s sexual predator register indefinitely.
