A 17-year-old Edgerton teen was detained early Saturday for allegedly assaulting officers and acting violently in response to a report of possible drug usage, according to the Oregon Police Department.
Police arrived soon before 2:30 a.m. to a home in the 100 block of Cedar Drive in the Village of Oregon. Callers claimed that an adult man who appeared to be under the influence of a suspected hallucinogenic substance was acting aggressively and attempting to attack others inside the home.
According to police, the adolescent grew belligerent throughout officers’ interactions with him, hitting one officer in the chest and attempting to disarm another.
After being taken into custody and transported to a local hospital, he allegedly attempted to hit medical personnel, kicked an officer, and spat on an officer. The cop was harmed.
The adolescent was charged with violence against a law enforcement officer, hurling or spewing bodily fluids at a public safety worker, resisting an officer, and disorderly behavior.
