A man who was allegedly in the country illegally was taken into custody in Massachusetts following a tractor trailer crash involving a child.
Maximo Garcia-Lopez, an illegal alien from Guatemala, was detained earlier this month by ICE Boston after allegedly being involved in a tractor trailer accident in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
According to ICE, Garcia-Lopez was the driver of the tractor trailer that made an unlawful turn and collided with another vehicle, requiring a young child in that car to get emergency medical attention and be hospitalized.
ERO Boston later determined that Garcia-Lopez did not possess a commercial or driver’s license.
According to Fox 11 News, Garcia-Lopez was cited in Connecticut on September 4 for allegedly driving a 60-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer without a license.
According to ICE, he worked for YMY Transport LLC, which is listed in federal transportation records as operating out of Colonial Heights, Virginia. Inspectors also discovered 31 more problems with the Freightliner tractor-trailer he was driving.
