A Massachusetts man has disclosed a clever strategy after winning big on a State Lottery instant game.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Leonardo Da Silva Almeida of Medford has won a $1 million grand prize in the “50X” $5 scratch ticket game.
He picked the cash option for his reward, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He intends to save and reinvest his gains.
Almeida bought his winning ticket at Public Tavern, 565 Broadway in Somerville. The retailer will receive a $10,000 incentive for selling this ticket.
This game’s three $1 million grand prizes have yet to be claimed.
