One person has died and six others were injured, including three firefighters, after a fire in Jersey City on Thursday night.
Just before 5 p.m., flames broke out inside a Boyd Street residence.
Firefighters say excessive clutter complicated the response, with rubbish and furniture piled five feet high.
Firefighters extracted one victim from the house, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
The fire also spread to nearby homes, displacing at least three, according to fire officials.
