A woman is dead and a man is in prison after an argument turned into a gunshot inside a home on the city’s Far South Side on Thursday afternoon.
According to Chicago police, the fatal shooting occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of West 83rd Street in Auburn Gresham.
According to officers, the gunshots began immediately after the victim, a 70-year-old woman, became involved in an altercation with a 63-year-old man inside a nearby property.
According to officers, the disagreement escalated to the point where the offender pulled out a revolver and fired bullets at the victim.
The deceased was shot in the neck and chest and pronounced dead at the spot.
Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the criminal, as well as recovering a handgun.
Charges against the arrested individual are presently pending.
Authorities have yet to identify the victim who was slain.
