An inmate at SCI Huntingdon has died after being found comatose in his cell on Monday.
Geraldo J. Maldonado, 43, of Lancaster County, was discovered in his cell by prison staff and medical specialists who attempted to save his life. He was eventually transferred to Penn Highlands Hospital and pronounced dead.
Maldonado was doing time at SCI Huntingdon after being convicted of rape, indecent assault, and unauthorized sexual contact with a minor.
He was sentenced to 24-52 years in prison in September 2023.
