Two women face felony charges after deputies caught them trying to steal over $1,100 in goods from a Posner Park business, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the shopping center on the evening of October 10, 2026, to investigate a retail theft that was taking place. Investigators concluded that Dionna Nicole Smith, 34, of Rochester, New York, and 29-year-old Journey Danae Myricks, also known as Keyanna Letrail Richards, of Haines City, conspired to steal $1,134.99 in products from a store.
When deputies approached to arrest Smith, Myricks fled via the exit. Deputies swiftly caught up with her and arrested her nearby.
A background check found that both individuals had outstanding warrants in other cases. Myricks had an ongoing warrant for burglary and violence related to a Winter Haven Police Department investigation. Smith had an out-of-state warrant from Pennsylvania for retail theft as well as a probation violation.
Deputies booked both women into the Sheriff’s Processing Center. Each is charged with conspiracy to commit retail theft, a third-degree felony, as well as third-degree felony retail theft. Myricks is also charged with resisting, a first-degree misdemeanor.
