An 18-year-old man was shot and killed on Tuesday in Chicago Ridge.
Around 6:50 p.m., officers rushed to the 10600 block of South Parkside Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim.
Officers on the scene discovered a man, subsequently identified as Omari Gates, 18, of Chicago Ridge, with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was declared deceased at Advocate Christ Medical in Oak Lawn.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is investigating alongside Chicago Ridge police.
