Oregon State Police troopers reported that they seized more than 40 pounds of meth during a traffic stop along Interstate 5 over the weekend.
At around 11 a.m. Saturday, a state trooper pulled over a northbound driver on I-5 near milepost 168 in the Cottage Grove area.
During the stop, the trooper observed “indicators of potential criminal activity” and conducted a consent search of the vehicle.
Inside the trunk, the trooper discovered a duffel bag containing 40 resealable plastic bags filled with meth. Authorities later weighed the drugs and confirmed a total of 40.5 pounds.
The driver was taken into custody on meth possession and distribution charges.
