A 15-year-old girl accused of stabbing another student inside a bathroom at Heritage High School appeared in court Thursday for her arraignment.
According to newly released court documents, the Feb. 17 attack happened after a 15-year-old girl entered a school bathroom and complimented the suspect’s hair. Police say the suspect then approached the victim from behind and held a knife to her throat.
Investigators say the victim struggled and was cut multiple times on her throat, wrist and eyelid before she was able to disarm the suspect and escape. The suspect was later arrested.
Court documents state that after the suspect was taken into custody, officers found a notebook in which she had allegedly written out a plan to attack the victim.
Authorities say the two students did not know each other well and that the stabbing was unprovoked.
The suspect’s name has not been released due to her age.
