A Coos Bay man was arrested Wednesday morning following a traffic stop for reckless driving near Cape Arago Highway.
According to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle around 7:23 a.m. on Windy Lane after observing multiple traffic violations and what was described as “extremely reckless” driving.
After an investigation, 46-year-old Donald B. Pitassi of Coos Bay was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), unlawful possession of methamphetamine and reckless driving.
Authorities said they seized a small amount of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, packaging materials and an open bottle of alcohol from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Pitassi was transported to the Coos County Jail.
No additional details have been released.
