Authorities say a driver fleeing a traffic stop at speeds exceeding 125 mph flipped a vehicle over the center barrier of Interstate 5 in southwest Washington, sending it sliding more than 400 feet across the highway.

The pursuit began around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on northbound I-5 near Castle Rock, Washington, according to the Washington State Patrol.

During the chase, the vehicle crossed the highway median barrier and entered lanes for oncoming traffic before skidding hundreds of feet. Police said the crash ended with the driver and two passengers taken into custody.

A baby who was also inside the vehicle survived the crash without injuries, authorities said.

The Centralia Police Department shared details of the crash, noting the extreme speed involved in the incident.

Officials have not released the identities of the people involved, and the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
