A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Portland early Monday morning, authorities said.
Officers from the Portland Police Bureau responded to reports of a shooting around 1:40 a.m. near Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, and police have not yet released his identity.
The investigation blocked nearby train tracks, forcing the suspension of service on the MAX Blue Line during the morning commute. According to TriMet, the disruption also caused delays on the Green, Orange and Yellow MAX lines.
Authorities closed East Burnside Street between Northeast 146th and 151st avenues, and southbound traffic on Northeast 148th Avenue toward Southeast Stark Street.
TriMet arranged shuttle buses between the Gateway/NE 99th Avenue Transit Center and East 162nd Avenue while the investigation continued.
Police have not announced any arrests and are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
