On This Post

A new $2.53 million outdoor sports facility featuring tennis and pickleball courts has officially opened in Roseburg, quickly becoming a gathering place for community members and athletes.

Local leaders and residents say the facility is expected to strengthen community involvement in sports and provide new opportunities for players of all ages.

Jeremy Root, director of tennis at the Umpqua Valley Tennis Center, said the new courts are an exciting addition for the area and a major step forward for local athletics.

Since opening, the courts have already hosted community activities, including participation from athletes involved with the Special Olympics in Douglas County.

Community members say the new facility provides a welcoming environment for players, families and local sports programs. Organizers hope the courts will continue to bring residents together while encouraging youth participation and inclusive athletics.
