Detectives are investigating a shooting in Portland that left a man with life-threatening injuries early Monday morning.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, the shooting occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street in the Hazelwood neighborhood.
The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Due to the severity of the case, homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
Authorities closed East Burnside Street between Northeast 146th and 151st avenues. Northeast 148th Avenue was also closed southbound to Southeast Stark Street and northbound to Northeast Couch Street.
The incident also disrupted service on the MAX Blue Line, with delays reported on other lines operated by TriMet.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators as the case remains under investigation.
