Three people were taken to the hospital and a dog died after a house fire Wednesday evening in Madras, Oregon, according to Jefferson County Fire & EMS.
Emergency crews responded to the blaze shortly before 6 p.m. at a home located on the 400 block of 10th Street on the north side of the city.
Fire officials said three residents were transported to a hospital for treatment after experiencing smoke inhalation. Authorities later confirmed their injuries were minor and they were released after receiving care.
The fire also claimed the life of a dog inside the home. The residents have been displaced as a result of the incident.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire.
