A fatal crash caused major traffic disruptions in Eugene after authorities closed a key off-ramp connecting Beltline Highway to Interstate 5.

According to the Eugene Police Department, one person was killed in a two-vehicle collision reported around 5:20 p.m. near the eastbound Beltline connector to southbound I-5.
Emergency crews, including the department’s Major Collision Investigation team, responded to the scene following reports from Central Lane 911.

The Oregon Department of Transportation confirmed that the eastbound Exit 13 off-ramp on Beltline Highway was shut down at approximately 6:15 p.m. due to the crash.
Officials noted that a damaged power pole contributed to extended road closures, leading to significant delays in the area.

Authorities advised motorists to seek alternate routes while crews worked at the scene. The closure impacted one of the city’s busiest connectors between Beltline and Interstate 5.
