On This Post

A deadly two-vehicle crash in Eugene led to the closure of a major roadway connection between Beltline Highway and Interstate 5 on Wednesday evening.

Crash leaves one person dead

The Eugene Police Department said the collision was reported around 5:20 p.m. near the eastbound Beltline connector to southbound I-5.

Officers, along with the department’s Major Collision Investigation team, responded to the scene. One person was pronounced dead, and authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until family members are notified.

Road closure and damage reported

The crash caused significant damage, including a broken power pole, which contributed to an extended shutdown of the eastbound Exit 13 off-ramp on Beltline Highway.

Crews remained on-site to manage the situation, and the closure disrupted traffic along one of the area’s key routes.

Investigation ongoing

Officials have not yet released details about what caused the crash or information about those involved. The investigation remains active.

Drivers were advised to take alternate routes while authorities worked to clear the scene.
