A knifepoint carjacking in Eugene ended quickly Wednesday after police used tracking technology to locate the stolen vehicle and arrest a suspect.

Truck Stolen at Knifepoint

According to the Eugene Police Department, officers responded around 11:59 a.m. on March 18 to reports of a Toyota Tacoma stolen at knifepoint in the 3600 block of West 11th Avenue.

Live Tracking Leads to Quick Arrest

Using the truck’s built-in tracking system, officers were able to quickly locate the vehicle and intercept it on the Chambers Connector.

Police then performed a forced stop, taking the male suspect into custody just minutes later at approximately 12:12 p.m.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity or the specific charges, but more details are expected as the investigation continues.
