On This Post

Officers with the Eugene Police Department arrested three individuals on suspicion of impaired driving in separate incidents over a span of roughly six hours.

Crash Leads to First DUI Arrest

The first case unfolded around 8:15 p.m. on March 21 on Tabor Street in Eugene. Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a Toyota Prius stuck in a ditch, with a woman inside yelling.

When officers arrived, they found the driver attempting to free the vehicle by spinning its tires. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Eryn Elizabeth Swett, was suspected of being under the influence and was later arrested for DUI.

Erratic Driving Reported Overnight

Several hours later, at about 2:27 a.m. on March 22, an officer observed a Toyota RAV4 accelerating aggressively along West Seventh Avenue. The vehicle reportedly changed lanes without signaling, drifted into a bike lane, and failed to stop at a stop sign.

Police said the driver then traveled the wrong way for a block on West Fifth Avenue before being pulled over. The driver, 48-year-old Dominick Allen McIntosh of Portland, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving.

Driver Attempts to Switch Seats

Just minutes later, around 2:28 a.m., another officer stopped a GMC Sierra that was traveling the wrong direction on Lincoln Street. As the officer approached, the driver and passenger allegedly switched seats.

After an investigation, police determined that 25-year-old Briseyda Jaqueline Rosales Escobedo of Eugene had been driving while impaired. She was arrested for DUI and cited for violating a one-way traffic rule.
