A man in Eugene was arrested after police discovered him sleeping inside a stolen railroad utility truck parked at a neighborhood park.

Truck Reported Missing from Railroad Property

Authorities say Central Oregon Pacific Railroad reported a theft last week involving a company truck, along with tools and clothing, from its property on Bethel Drive.

Vehicle Located at City Park

The following day, officers with Eugene police located the stolen vehicle at Trainsong Park.

When officers checked the truck, they found a man asleep inside.

Suspect Taken Into Custody

Police identified the suspect as Joseph DiMarco. He was arrested at the scene and charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.

Jail records show DiMarco remained in custody at the Lane County Jail as of March 25.

Investigation Ongoing

Officials have not released further details about the theft, and the case remains under investigation.
