Lexington police arrested a man they say shot a woman with a BB gun.
Authorities charged Allen Burgess with second-degree assault after a criminal complaint stated officers found the victim bleeding from her right temple.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim said she was sitting in her vehicle on Dakota Street when Burgess approached the car carrying a BB handgun.
The victim told police that Burgess shot her “point blank” in the temple with the BB handgun, according to the complaint, and then fled into a residence.
Authorities are holding Burgess in the Fayette County Detention Center.
