A driver struck a child Sunday afternoon near the Moda Center in Portland’s Rose Quarter, according to Portland Fire & Rescue
The crash occurred near Northeast Multnomah Street and North Interstate Avenue. Assistant Public Information Officer Christine Pezzulo said the child was breathing when firefighters arrived at the scene. Emergency responders transported the child to a hospital for treatment.
Officials have not released further details about the child’s condition.
MAX Service Temporarily Suspended
The nearby MAX light rail line was temporarily shut down while first responders worked at the scene. Authorities said the train was not involved in the crash but service was paused for safety reasons.
