Deputies arrested a man wanted on a felony warrant after a police pursuit in Veneta, Oregon, authorities said.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after a vehicle connected to a previous chase in Eugene, Oregon was spotted trespassing in a church parking lot in Veneta.

Officials said the vehicle left before deputies arrived, prompting an Oregon State Police trooper to deploy spike strips nearby. The suspected driver, David Johnathan Guggenmos of Springfield, Oregon, was wanted on a felony warrant.

When the vehicle attempted to flee again, the spike strips successfully slowed it down and deputies arrested Guggenmos. He was booked into the Lane County Jail on charges including attempting to elude police by vehicle and resisting arrest.

Jail records show Guggenmos remained in custody as of March 4. Authorities thanked Oregon State Police for assisting with the arrest.
