A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a shooting early Thursday in Portland, Oregon, police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. in the 11300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard in the Parkrose neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Officers arrested 40-year-old Pryce Lampkin as a suspect shortly after the shooting. Investigators said Lampkin ran from the scene but was located in a nearby yard with assistance from a K-9 unit and police drones.
Authorities also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting a short distance away.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identity.
During the investigation, Northeast Sandy Boulevard was closed between 112th Avenue and 115th Avenue before later reopening.
Detectives said they are not currently searching for any additional suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
