A city council member in Estacada has been arrested on multiple charges related to the alleged abuse of a minor.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Blevens on Thursday following a grand jury indictment filed earlier in the week.
The 23-count indictment includes felony charges of criminal mistreatment, assault and strangulation, along with misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, harassment and menacing. Authorities said the charges are linked to incidents that allegedly occurred between September 2023 and September 2025.
Blevens was appointed to the Estacada City Council in February 2025 to fill a vacant seat.
As of Saturday, he remained in custody at the Clackamas County Jail with bail set at $75,000. The case remains under investigation.
