A car crash in Silverton left one pedestrian dead and another seriously injured Friday evening, according to authorities.
The Silverton Police Department said officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking multiple pedestrians near the Silverplace Apartments close to downtown Silverton.
When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from life-threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Later that evening, one of the victims died from their injuries. Authorities have not yet released the person’s identity.
Police said the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
