A man died after being ejected from his vehicle during a crash in Douglas County Friday afternoon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded shortly after 2:45 p.m. on March 6 to a single-vehicle crash on Elkhead Road near Yoncalla.
When authorities arrived, they found a white 2009 Kia Rio about 200 feet off the roadway in a nearby field. Officials said the driver, identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Rex Snyder of Drain, had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Emergency crews from North Douglas Fire & EMS, the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office and Loughead’s Towing assisted at the scene.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash or events leading up to it to contact the sheriff’s office and reference case number 26-0726.
