A man from Bandon, Oregon was taken into custody after deputies responded to a report that a woman was being held against her will, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 9:11 p.m. on March 11 along Seven Devils Road. When deputies arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled on foot.
Investigators identified the suspect as Robert L. Schnur, 34.
Suspect located by K9 unit
Deputies used a police dog, Cena, to track Schnur’s location. The K9 eventually found him hiding on top of a dilapidated motorhome, where authorities say he was pointing a shotgun toward deputies.
Officers were able to take Schnur into custody following the tense encounter.
Multiple charges filed
Schnur now faces several charges, including unlawful use of a weapon, assault, strangulation, and violating a no-contact order.
Records from the Coos County Jail indicate he remained in custody as of March 12.
Authorities have not released additional details about the alleged victim or the circumstances leading up to the incident.
