Eugene man arrested after allegedly firing paintball gun during dispute

On This Post

A man from Eugene, Oregon was arrested Wednesday evening after authorities say he fired a paintball or pellet gun during a dispute and later threatened others with a handgun.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7 p.m. on March 11 to reports of a disturbance at a home on Dalewood Street.

Deputies deploy armored vehicle and drone

Investigators say the suspect, identified as Nathan Randal Larson, 44, allegedly shot a paintball or pellet gun during the argument, striking one person. Authorities said he then pointed a handgun toward other individuals before retreating inside the residence.

Because Larson remained inside, deputies used an armored rescue vehicle and a drone to monitor the situation.

Officials said Larson eventually came outside but did not cooperate with commands. Deputies then used less-lethal munitions to take him into custody.

Weapons discovered during search

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators reported finding several items inside the home, including:

  • A loaded .45-caliber handgun

  • A paintball gun

  • A tactical vest with ammunition

Larson was booked into the Lane County Jail and remained in custody as of March 13.

Charges filed

Authorities said Larson is facing multiple charges, including:

  • Assault

  • Menacing

  • Resisting arrest

The case remains under investigation.
