A man from Springfield has been sentenced to life in prison after admitting to killing his elderly parents at their home in Mohawk Valley.

Christopher Allan Turner, 59, pleaded guilty on Friday to the murders of his parents, Paul Turner, 89, and Beverly Turner, 84. Court records state that he shot both victims while they were in bed inside the residence they shared.

The couple’s daughter discovered the scene after becoming concerned when she could not reach her parents for several days. According to investigators, she went to the home and found both victims deceased.

Authorities initially believed Christopher Turner had also died, as he was found unresponsive on a couch surrounded by alcohol bottles. However, he later regained consciousness.

When he woke, Turner reportedly expressed remorse, telling his sister he was sorry and attributing the घटना to ongoing conflict and excessive drinking, according to court documents.

The case shocked the local community, highlighting a tragic instance of domestic violence within a family setting.
