Authorities are asking the public for help after an armed robbery at a jewelry store inside Washington Square Mall in Tigard, Oregon, where two suspects smashed display cases and fled following a multi-agency police pursuit.
Armed Robbery at Washington Square Mall
According to the Tigard Police Department, the robbery occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday at a Kay Jewelers location inside the mall.
Investigators say two masked men, one armed with a handgun and the other wielding a sledgehammer, entered the store and shattered a glass display case before grabbing merchandise.
Police said the armed suspect pointed the weapon at employees and customers, though no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Suspects Flee, Multi-Agency Chase Ensues
After the robbery, the suspects fled in a black Honda Accord, prompting a high-speed chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
The pursuit moved through downtown Portland, onto Interstate 5, and ultimately extended into Vancouver, Washington, where the suspects managed to evade capture.
Police Request Public’s Help
Investigators are now urging anyone who witnessed the robbery or captured video footage of the suspects or the getaway vehicle to come forward.
Authorities specifically requested submissions of surveillance or dashcam footage that could assist in identifying the suspects or tracing their movements.
