EUGENE, Ore. — A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies targeting the same deli in Eugene, according to the Eugene Police Department.

The suspect, Solomon Everisto Lehi, is accused of carrying out separate robberies at Sandy’s Deli on Barger Drive, months apart.

Armed Robbery Investigation

Police said the most recent incident occurred on March 15 at around 8:50 a.m., when a man entered the deli and used a firearm to steal cash before fleeing the scene.

Officers, along with K9 units from both the Eugene Police Department and the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect at the time.

Detective Links Suspect to Multiple Crimes

A follow-up investigation led detectives to identify Lehi as the suspect. Authorities also determined he was connected to a previous armed robbery at the same deli in December 2025.

SWAT Team Makes Late-Night Arrest

Police coordinated with SWAT to arrest Lehi. On April 9, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers moved in as he left his workplace on West 11th Avenue.

Lehi attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended without incident.

Weapons Recovered During Search

Following the arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Maxwell Road where Lehi had reportedly been staying. During the search, officers recovered two firearms.

Charges and Custody Status

Lehi was booked into the Lane County Jail on the following charges:

  • Two counts of first-degree robbery
  • One count of first-degree aggravated theft

Jail records confirm he remains in custody as of April 10.

 Ongoing Public Safety Efforts

Authorities say the arrest highlights ongoing efforts to investigate repeat offenders and ensure the safety of local businesses and residents.
