Beaverton man charged after allegedly assaulting women during Portland park photo shoot

A Beaverton man faces charges of sexual abuse and other offenses following a string of unusual incidents at a Portland park last week.

According to court records, officers responded to Council Crest Park last Thursday.

A woman told police she had gone there for a photo shoot and wore a dress similar to a tutu that exposed her midriff.

She said that as she stepped out of her car for the shoot, a man grabbed her midriff and then kept following her around the park.

She reported that the man, later identified as Ayman Tarek Elkholy, 31, muttered strange phrases such as, “Oh, all the bones in my body,” while chasing her.

Another woman said Elkholy attempted to grab other models during the shoot before eventually walking away.

A third woman said she was at the park with her daughter, lying on a blanket.

She said Elkholy sat on her and began shouting “weird things.”

Another woman witnessed the struggle, ran over to help, and pushed him away.

She said Elkholy then moved behind her, placed her in a chokehold, and made “weird moaning noises” until other women struck him and he released her.

Police arrested Elkholy, and officers said they heard him tell a jail nurse during booking that he had taken LSD.

According to court records, he was arraigned Friday on charges of third-degree sex abuse, four counts of harassment, attempted strangulation, and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Elkholy, who has no prior criminal history, bailed out of jail after posting 10% of his $5,000 bail. He is due back in court April 17.
