Authorities say a man suspected of hitting a woman in Wisconsin attempted to alter and conceal his car in Iowa.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report at 8:41 a.m. on April 26 that a 68-year-old woman and her dog had been hit by a car while walking along Rhein Hollow Road in the Township of Wauzeka.
The woman was airlifted from the scene. Her dog was also injured.
During the inquiry, investigators established that the driver was Donovan Bruns, 31, of Wauzeka, who was driving a green 1996 Chevrolet Blazer.
Bruns went to great lengths to conceal and modify his vehicle in Iowa, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bruns was arrested on accusations of first-degree willful endangerment of safety, reckless driving resulting in grave bodily harm, duty upon striking a person, and felony obstruction.
