A reported stabbing at a high school in Washington state on Thursday injured four students and a school security officer, according to authorities.

The suspect, a Tacoma school student, was also hurt and is currently under arrest, according to police.

According to authorities, the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. PT at Foss High School. According to Tacoma Police Department spokesman Officer Shelbie Boyd, the call suggested that an incident, possibly a stabbing, had happened at the school.

According to Boyd, the five students and security officer were taken to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries is now unknown. Boyd said he didn’t know how many people were stabbed or whether there were more lacerations than abrasions.

The Tacoma Fire Department reported that the four student victims were transported in serious condition but are now stable. According to the report, both the security officer and the suspect sustained minor injuries.

The Tacoma Police Department assures that the situation is secure and continues to investigate the event.
