The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that two people died in a head-on collision Friday afternoon in Cherokee County.
The collision happened around 12:25 p.m. on State Highway 51 near North 466 Road. According to authorities, Elisha Dilbeck, 44, of Hulbert, drove a westbound car that crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound vehicle.
Troopers said that Dilbeck was declared dead at the scene.
The crash also claimed the life of Mildred Ramsey, 79, of Broken Arrow.
State Highway 51 was temporarily closed while first responders worked at the incident. The road has since been reopened.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
