A Lady Lake man was detained for driving with a suspended license after crossing many lines on his way out of Circle K.
According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a silver Kia minivan leaving the Circle K parking lot at 10 p.m. Wednesday at 1527 Buenos Aires Blvd. in The Villages. As Jacob Howard Carroll, 35, exited the petrol station, he crossed two solid yellow lines and a striped median to enter the left-turn lane.
When the vehicle began to travel north on U.S. Highway 441, the deputy halted it at the crossroads with County Road 109. A further check of Carroll’s license revealed that it had been suspended indefinitely on February 23 due to unmet financial obligations. He had already been convicted twice before for driving with an invalid license, according to the newspaper.
Carroll was arrested on allegations of driving with a suspended or revoked license (third or subsequent violation) and probation violation. He was detained at the Sumter County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
In October 2020, he was one of two people detained in Wildwood on drug allegations.
