Man apprehended following stabbing in Pahrump, deputies say

On Saturday, May 2, at 9:45 a.m., a man was arrested in Pahrump for allegedly stabbing an elderly man in the abdomen with a machete the previous night, according to a Nye County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

On Friday, May 1, at 9:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office dispatch received a call reporting a multiple stabbing incident on North Leslie Street.

When deputies arrived, they discovered an older man with a significant laceration to his abdomen.

The suspect, Aaron Drennan, was identified through an inquiry and was allegedly armed with a machete when the stabbing occurred, according to the post.

Mercy Air flew the male victim to Las Vegas for medical treatment, while an elderly woman who was wounded in the head with the machete handle was transferred to Desert View Hospital for treatment.

Drennan was apprehended on Isaac Street in Pahrump on Saturday, brought into custody without incident, and transferred to the Nye County jail facility for booking, according to the post.
