A woman was killed after being hit by at least two vehicles early Sunday in Houston, according to investigators.

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, patrol officers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport responded to a report of a pedestrian on the highway near 6500 Will Clayton Parkway. When authorities arrived, they discovered a major crash involving an adult female pedestrian.

The Houston Police Department stated the matter is being investigated for failing to stop and offer aid. Investigators suspect the initial car, described by a witness as white, struck the pedestrian before fleeing the area.

A second driver then struck and ran over the person, according to authorities. When that driver returned, he realized it was a human, pulled over, switched on his hazard lights, and waited for cops. Police stated that there were no symptoms of intoxication.

The pedestrian, described as a white or Hispanic woman, has not been identified. The Houston Fire Department pronounced her deceased at the spot. According to investigators, it is unclear whether she was a tourist or passing through the area.

Anyone with information about this event should contact the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division at (713) 247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
