An Altoona woman was sentenced to three to 15 years in state prison Monday for causing a high-speed, drug-fueled wreck that consumed a vehicle and critically injured two people. Breanna Lord, 26, received the term after pleading no contest in April to 13 crimes related to the May 2, 2021, incident.
The allegations included felony aggravated assault and aggravated assault by car while driving under the influence. According to court papers, Lord was driving at a high speed when she collided with a building on the 700 block of 29th Street. The incident caused the car to catch fire, resulting in “very serious injuries” to Lord and her passenger.
In addition to the felony counts, Lord was sentenced for many misdemeanors, including wrongful restraint, reckless endangerment of another person, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. In addition, the plea included six summary traffic penalties. Lord will serve her term in a state jail facility.
