A Linn County man was arrested Monday on charges related to a stabbing on April 23, 2026, in Eugene.
The Eugene Police Department says dispatchers got a call about a stabbing at 9:43 p.m. on April 23 at Washington Street and W. 12th Avenue.
Eugene Police officers responded to the site, discovered the victim, and provided emergency medical care until Eugene Springfield Fire came to take over and transport the 37-year-old male to a nearby hospital.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police also responded with K9s to assist in the search, but no suspects were found.
The Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit was called in and took over the investigation.
On May 12, police arrested Donald Riley Nelson, 26, in Albany, Oregon. He was booked into Lane County Jail on accusations of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
