Doral police detained a mother and daughter accused of stealing from the dental facility where they both worked.

According to authorities, the victim owns the Doral Dentistry Specialty Center, which is situated at 7902 NW 36th St.

The victim told investigators that the defendants, Kaylyn Lopez, 24, and Cynthia Joya, 53, had been stealing from the firm for approximately a year, from March 2025 to March 16, 2026, according to arrest reports obtained by Local 10 on Thursday.

On that date, the victim claimed that both ladies abruptly resigned from their positions without notice and could not be reached subsequently, according to authorities.

The victim told police that he launched an internal assessment of Lopez and Joya’s business records and financial transactions and realized they had misappropriated company monies.

According to authorities, the accused would take cash and Zelle payments from clients while keeping the proceeds for personal use.

According to reports, authorities subpoenaed a Bank of America account “that both defendants maintained and controlled” and discovered “multiple Zelle transactions conducted between the defendants and clients of the clinic” that were not approved by the business owners.

According to jail records, both ladies were arrested on Wednesday and are each charged with felony charges of third-degree grand theft and organized fraud.

They were booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Thursday morning and remained there until Thursday afternoon on $5,000 individual bonds each.
