A Belleview woman was arrested with two rounds after being pulled over for speeding.

A deputy saw 52-year-old Laura Marie Freer driving a white four-door utility vehicle eastbound on Southeast Sunset Harbor Road in Summerfield around 12:10 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle turned onto Southeast 100th Avenue, then immediately returned to Southeast 145th Place. As the deputy attempted to catch up, it appeared to be going 45 mph. He couldn’t get close enough to pace the vehicle until it drove onto Southeast 95th Court, when he found it was going 41 to 43 mph in a 30-mph residential zone, according to the report.

The car then returned to Southeast Sunset Harbor Road, where the deputy made a traffic stop around the 9400 block. Another unit arrived to assist, and a K-9 walked around the outside of the vehicle to search for narcotics. According to the report, the K-9 responded positively to the stench of narcotics emanating from the interior.

During the subsequent search, police officers discovered two. 22 caliber bullets are stored in a little change compartment located just in front of the shifter. Freer indicated that she found them in a parking lot and intended to dispose of them. According to the report, she was unaware that she was prohibited from possessing ammunition while being a convicted criminal.

Freer was later arrested on suspicion of possessing a weapon or ammunition by a convicted criminal. The Marion County Jail booked the New York native without bond.
