A driver was taken into custody when troopers discovered a mound of alcohol bottles inside his vehicle following a crash in Mesa last week.

Troopers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 87 near Desert Lane on May 15. When troopers arrived, they discovered a motorist had collided with another vehicle carrying three individuals, according to DPS.

During the inquiry, officers discovered many open and unopened alcohol bottles on the passenger seat of the car.
