Children Run for Cover After 15-Year-Old Shot Nearby in Nesper Street, Philadelphia

Police are investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy injured Wednesday evening in Northeast Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on the 3000 block of Nesper Street.

Investigators found the teenager near a parked car, with 11 spent shell casings recovered at the scene.

The teen sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and shoulder. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Video obtained by Action News captured several children running to safety as shots rang out in the area.

Authorities described the suspect as wearing a full mask and a dark-colored sweatshirt with white lettering on the back.

A BB gun was also reportedly recovered at the scene.

Officials have not disclosed what led up to the shooting, and it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made.
