An Irving police officer apprehended a motorist Thursday morning after noticing many traffic offenses and indicators of impairment during a traffic check.
According to the Irving Police Department, the officer pulled over a car on May 28 after witnessing many traffic violations.
During the stop, the driver, Cesar Alexis Garibaldi-Soni, 26, allegedly showed clear signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs.
According to police, field testing was undertaken, and a blood sample confirmed impairment.
After determining probable cause, authorities searched the vehicle and allegedly uncovered illegal substances and a firearm.
Garibaldi-Soni was detained and booked at Irving Jail about 6:35 a.m. and charged with the following:
- DWI, Second Offense
- Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Marijuana, More Than 4 Ounces and Less Than 5 Pounds
- Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon
The case is still pending in the court system.
