A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being injured in a stabbing, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were contacted to Wellstar MCG Health at 6:30 a.m. after receiving word that a victim had arrived at the hospital for treatment.
Investigators discovered that the injuries were the result of a stabbing in the 2200 block of Southgate Drive.
During the inquiry, deputies found a potential suspect. Authorities later discovered the individual during a traffic stop on Gordon Highway around 5th Street.
According to officials, the suspect fled the traffic stop on foot. A K-9 Unit was dispatched to the area and tracked down the perpetrator, finally leading to his arrest.
The investigation continues.
